A 29-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a crash early Wednesday morning that happened on Ridge Road and Airway Boulevard around 2:15 a.m.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, the 29-year-old Port Richey biker was traveling eastbound on Ridge Road in the outside lane just east of Airway Boulevard when he lost control and collided with a curb.
The motorcycle then collided with a utility pole. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
It is unknown at this time what caused the man to initially lose control of the bike.
Contrary to popular belief, not all motorcycle accidents are a biker’s fault. When it comes to losing control of a motorcycle, there are two main reasons this happens, including poorly coordinated braking and turning, which is usually associated with inexperience and hazards on the roadway, such as spills or uneven surfaces. In situations where another party’s negligence resulted in a motorcycle injury or wrongful death, a lawsuit can be file to recover damages.
